Thes Rooms La Chalémie and its Cornet à Bouquin On the first floor of the farmhouse, the room “La chalémie” is flanked by the “Cornet à Bouquin(s)”, a small vaulted room in the adjoining turret. Two to four people may lodge here. It welcomes you undera solid oak frame, paved with artisanal earthenware tiles between whitewashed walls. A very ancient thick oak door closes the vaulted annex. Comfort, space and peculiarity are the characteristics of this room (almost a tiny suite) composed of a large bedroom (38 m2) and a small vaulted room (7 m2) and: - a bathroom with Italian shower, separate toilet and washbasin - ancient family furniture - 2 twin beds 90 x 200 cm plus 1-2 extra beds 90 x 200 cm - a child’s bed is available on request - hair dryer, electric kettle for hot drinks, tea-coffee
“La chalémie” and the “Cornet à Bouquin” formedpart of the group of wind instruments in the Middle Ages. “La chalémie”, according to available performances, could even be played double with only one musician. A small organ was fitted with a set of reeds of this name. |
