The Farm The Farmhouse This is the oldest of the farm’s buildings, established uphill on the property bordering the road. The main part was constructed at the end of the XVIth Century. Numerous renovations have enhanced the original building, the last at the beginning of the XIXth Century which forms the final layout. You will find there: - The large kitchen, where breakfast is served at the hosts’ table, together with its monumental chimney, partially vaulted and originally used for making and storing cheese. - The living room with a library containing numerous Fine Arts and regional architectural publications. - The first floor, consisting of two bedrooms with independent access via an exterior stone stairway. One of the rooms boasts a small vaulted annex, a sort of small treasure fire shelter. - A vaulted cellar for storing red wine, as well as a curious stone pantry, an ancestor of ice chests! The vaulted white wine cellar is located in an outbuilding! - Backed onto the West facade, a large bread oven reconstructed in the XIXth Century. |
